Suspected gunmen abduct Catholic priest in Edo

Kidnappers demand ₦30m ransom for victims abducted from Nigerian Army Estate Abuja

Gunmen suspected to be kidnappers on Sunday abducted a reverend father, Christopher Odia, in Edo State.

The incident happened in Ikabigbo community in Etsako West local government area of the state, it was gathered.

It was further gathered that the Priest was preparing to go for mass in the early hours of Sunday when gunmen stormed his residence in the community, kidnapped him and took him into the bush.

A source within the community said community vigilance group are already combing the bush to rescue the kidnapped priest.

The village head of the community, Braimah Alehgeh, who confirmed the development, also said effort is on to get the catholic priest released.

When contacted, the Edo State command public relations officer, Chidi Nwabuzor, told our reporter that “it is not clear yet, please give me sometime to respond to you accurately.”
