The Senate on Tuesday confirmed the appointments of three new members for the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
The confirmation followed the consideration of the report presented by the Chairman Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions, Senator Ayo Akinyelure.
The three new members are Benedict Umeano (South East), Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma (South-South), and a retired Commissioner of Police, Olayinka Balogun (South West).
The Senate President, Ahmed Lawan, congratulated the appointees and asked them to discharge their duties patriotically.
Meanwhile, the Senate has received a request from President Muhammadu Buhari for the confirmation of seven nominees as Chairman and members of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission Tribunal.
The Senate Leader, Abdullahi Yahaya, read the letter at the resumed plenary on Tuesday.
The nominees are Saratu Shafi, Chairman (North Central), George Mbonu, member (South East), Thomas Okosun, member (South-South), Umar Duhu, member (North East); Ibrahim El-Yakubu, member (North West); Sola Ajulo, member (South West) and Kenneth Gyado, member (North Central).
The request was referred to the Senate Committee on Trade and Investment for legislative duties.
