Christopher Musa, Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, has formly dismissed recent online rumors claiming he was stepping down, threatening to take legal action against perpetrators of the claim, describing them as entirely fabricated and malicious.
Musa stated this at the Presidential Villa, Abuja after a closed-door meeting with President Bola Tinubu, in Tuesday
Th Minister vowed to take legal action against those who originated the false reports, which he blamed on enemies of the country
Musa blames people who are not happy with the recent success recorded by the federal government in the security sector for the rumour, adding that ” You should expect that there will be people that will not be happy when things are going on well.
“The security situation is improving, there are people who will always not be happy, for them, it is a sad point. They will always make it look like nothing is happening”
The Defence Minister assured that ” I am not going anywhere. i have never discussed and I do not even know who the person is. But whoever he is, we will take legal action against him and he will come and explain who gave him such information.
“i can assure Nigerians that we are fully on ground and they can see I just came from briefing Mr. President on the current security situation and he is very happy with us and now, we are going to continue doing well
The Defence Minister used the opportunity to appreciate Nigerians for all the support the security agencies are receiving adding that ” The support has been massive and you can see the changes.
” That is why we say that to defeat the terrorist and bandits, it is a whole of the society approach and now, Nigerians are keying into it and Nigeria is getting better and we will continue to improve” he said
