A release signed by the Governor stated that “through almsgiving and firm commitment to a better world in our own corners, I charge the faithful to live by the spirit of this holy month in which sins are forgiven, destinies are reshaped for good, and servants of God are given a brand new opportunity to get closer to the Creator.

“I charge the faithful to beseech Allah for peace, improved security, and sustainable development for our country, Nigeria, and for Kwara State in particular, as we begin a new chapter in our democratic journey.

“I wish all of us God’s abiding mercies in this holy month and always.”
