Pro-Fubara lawmakers to screen new commissioner-nominee today

Oko-Kbo new Rivers speaker

The Rivers State House of Assembly has invited Emmanuel Frank-Fubara for a screening and confirmation hearing. This will determine his eligibility to join Governor Sim Fubara’s cabinet as a commissioner.

The invitation was revealed to the public through a statement signed by G. M Gillis-West, the assembly clerk, detailing the screening on Monday (today) at 10 am within the Assembly Chamber located at the Government House.

The statement read, “The Rivers State House of Assembly hereby invites the Commissioner nominee, Emmanuel Frank-Fubara, for screening and confirmation, and a member of the Rivers State Executive Council.

”The nominee is to come along with twelve sets of his Curriculum Vitae and the originals and photocopies of his credentials.”

This marks the third commissioner nominee to be vetted by the pro-Fubara assembly under Speaker Victor Oko-Jumbo.

This follows the resignation of nine commissioners, including those overseeing Education, Justice, and Finance Ministries.

These departures stemmed from a growing rift between the governor and his former mentor, Minister Nyesom Wike.
