The operatives of the Nigerian Police from the Imo State command have recovered goods valued at N800,000 and returned same to the rightful owner.
It happened that at about 3:30 am last Friday, the police from the Area Command in Owerri Municipality while on routine night patrol along the West-End area in Owerri recovered stolen items which included: a television set, a home theatre and over 50 Hi-target/wax hollandaise wrappers valued over N800,000 which was abandoned along the road by suspected shop burglars who took to their heels upon sighting the police.
Consequent to the directives of Danjuma Aboki, the commissioner of police in the state, the recovered items were later released to the rightful owner, the CEO Vivee Couture, and Fabric Enterprise on Friday, April 26, 2024, after a thorough investigation which revealed that her store situated at No. 45 Ekwema Crescent Ikenegbu layout was burgled and looted same night the items were recovered.
However, in appreciation, she expressed her profound gratitude to the commissioner of police and the Area Commander for recovering some of the items that were stolen from her store.
To this, she has said that her trust and love for the police have increased and urged the people in Imo State to support the police in the fight against crime and criminality.
Meanwhile, Aboki, the Commissioner of Police in the state has affirmed that efforts were on to arrest the fleeing suspects so that they would face the full wrath of the law.
He noted that the command would remain unwavering in its commitment to clamp down on shop burglars in the state and would also not relent in its efforts to make the state safer and more secure for economic growth and development.
