Imo CP directs Special Tactical Squad to apprehend killers of two cops, one civilian at Akabor

The Nigeria Police Force has managed to recover 10 rifles that were snatched from 13 murdered policemen by suspected hoodlums in the Ohoro forest near Ughelli, Delta State.

This recovery was achieved by the Force Intelligence Department Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT) during a coordinated operation that involved engaging the suspects in a fierce gun battle, resulting in the neutralization of some of the criminals.

According to a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the recovered rifles are a crucial part of the 13 police rifles that were lost during the tragic ambush and gruesome murder of the police officers in Delta State.

Additionally, the police were able to seize arms used by the assailants and apprehend six members of a notorious kidnapping gang that had been terrorizing the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reiterated the police’s unwavering commitment to reducing crime levels to the barest minimum.

He emphasized the importance of intelligence gathering and sharing for effective operational deployments in the fight against criminal activities.

The IGP assured the public that the safety and security of Nigerian citizens remain the top priority for the police force.

This operation marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to combat crime and restore security not only in Delta State but also across the nation.

With the successful recovery of the stolen rifles and the arrest of the kidnapping gang members, the police are sending a strong message to criminals that their unlawful activities will not go unpunished.
