The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command said they have arrested 348 suspects involved in different criminal activities, ranging from theft to drug trafficking.
The police said the arrests followed raids on criminal hideouts across the FCT.
The raids are part of the police’s broader strategy to curb crime, safeguard public infrastructure, and dismantle illegal drug networks.
Josephine Adeh, the FCT police command public relations officer, said the proactive strategy was designed to enhance the safety and security of residents across the territory.
According to the police, the raids were carried out in Apo-Dutse Panteka, the Diplomatic Zone, and the New PDP Secretariat. Other notable targets of the raids include Kabusa Panteka, Tungan-Maje (Ajakaita), and Abuja-Kaduna Road. Additionally, areas such as Jabi Panteka, Apo-Waru Panteka, and Area 1 (Monkey Village) were also raided.
Others are Durumi Village, Gwarimpa, Angwan Tivi, and Mpape, with particular attention to the Mashafa and Shishinpe villages.
Furthermore, raids were conducted in Durumi III (Burukutu Garden), Mabushi (Gishiri Village), Kubwa (Pipeline and NEPA Road), and Maitama, particularly under the Transcorp Bridge. These black spots have been identified as areas where criminal activities are prevalent, and the raids are part of a broader effort to restore safety and order.
According to the police, the sustained efforts of the FCT police command in these operations have led to significant achievements.
“These include the arrest of 348 suspects connected to various criminal activities. Additionally, 320 individuals have been prosecuted, with offenders duly charged to court for their involvement in crimes.
