Pampers Private School has adopted and commenced the implementation of international standards of assessment as part of its efforts to drive excellence in education.

Kingsley Okorodudu, deputy director of studies at the school, said the decision of the faculty to implement international standards of assessment is a testament to the school’s commitment to educational excellence.

Speaking ahead of the 2024 Cambridge Checkpoint Examination for Grade 6 students scheduled for April 23rd to 25th, he said that going through such a rigorous benchmark; ensures students receive world-class education that prepares them for success on a global stage.

According to him, the Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations provide an invaluable external benchmark that allows the school to gauge its students’ performance against international standards.

Okorodudu said the commitment to integrating the British curriculum ensures a seamless blend of Nigerian and international education, equipping students with the necessary skills and knowledge to thrive in a globalised world.

He said that the school has been consistent in achieving outstanding results in previous Cambridge Checkpoint examinations, which solidifies the school’s position as a leading provider of exceptional education in Nigeria.

On the steps the school is taking ahead of the examination, he said both teachers and students have been working hard to prepare for the coming assessment to surpass the outstanding records that have been set by the students before them.

“In 2023, our students achieved exceptional results, scoring a perfect band score of 6.0 (the maximum score obtainable) in both Mathematics and English and an impressive 5.6 in Science as the collective centre average,” he said.

Okorodudu said that the students’ impressive performances are a recurring theme as the learners also achieved perfect 6.0 scores in all three subjects in 2022.

“These remarkable scores place our students well above the “average” range of 3.0 to 4.0 thereby showcasing their amazing abilities and highlighting the exceptional quality of education offered at the school. We take pride in offering a comprehensive educational experience that prepares students for success in various academic endeavours,” he said.

He urged all learners participating in the upcoming examination to embrace the challenge with confidence. He assured that their children receive top-tier education that prepares them for academic success at the highest levels.

These exams assess students at the end of Primary School, providing valuable insights into their strengths and weaknesses in core subjects such as English, Math, and Science before transitioning to secondary education.

The Cambridge Checkpoint exams are administered internationally in over 170 countries, offering schools and students an external benchmark for performance evaluation.
