Oyo signage develops framework on site approvals, billings, partners OOAP

The Oyo State Signage and Advertisement Agency (OYSAA), is currently developing a comprehensive framework to focus on a detailed re-assessment of current site approvals, a complete overhaul of billing processes, and the introduction of a rigorous enforcement protocol.

This is coming as OYSAA is set to partner Oyo State Outdoor Advertising Practitioners (OOAP) to transform Signage and Advertisement sector in the state.

Oludolapo Eso-Ajanaku, director general of OYSAA, who disclosed this during a meeting in Ibadan with OOAP, said the primary topic of discussion was the challenge of billboard clustering, which has undermined the aesthetic and economic vitality of Oyo State.

He noted that the meeting marked a critical step in aligning with the governor’s vision for the economic and aesthetic advancement of Oyo State, as well as aiming at enhancing the outdoor signage and advertisement ecosystem.

Eso-Ajanaku emphasised the necessity of a united effort to attain the collective goals of OYSAA and OOAP. He encouraged practitioners to promptly settle debts and maintain professionalism in their site request procedures.

In his own remarks, Tomi Awobode, chairman of OOAP, praised the director general for initiating the open dialogue.

He expressed optimism regarding the agency’s future under Eso-Ajanaku’s direction and expressed confidence in achieving revenue targets and fostering a more organised and aesthetically appealing outdoor advertisement environment.

Awobode urged his colleagues to commit to the highest professional standards and to support the new initiatives introduced by the director general.

The meeting concluded with a unified commitment among the practitioners to work collaboratively with OYSAA, reflecting their joint dedication to positively transforming the signage and advertisement sector in Oyo State.
