Olatunbosun Oyintiloye, a Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has said the re-election victory of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in Ekiti State in last Saturday’s election underscores the party’s growing strength and bodes well for its chances in the August 15 governorship election in Osun.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo on Sunday, Oyintiloye said the overwhelming victory recorded by Oyebanji had boosted the morale of APC members across Osun and reinforced confidence that the party is on course to reclaim power in the state.

BusinessDay reports that Osun is currently under the control of the Accord Party, with Ademola Adeleke as governor. Adeleke is seeking re-election in the August 15 election in the state.

Oyintiloye noted that the Ekiti election result demonstrated that voters reward leaders who prioritise good governance, development and people-centred policies.

“The victory in Ekiti is more than an electoral success; it is a clear indication that the APC remains the preferred platform for many Nigerians. We believe Osun voters will make the same choice on August 15.

“The Ekiti election has provided renewed energy and inspiration for our members and supporters. It has been shown that the people still believe in the APC and its vision for development.

“The Ekiti result has shown that when a party is united, focused and committed to grassroots engagement, victory becomes very easy. It is a clear lesson for us in Osun that teamwork, dedication and collective responsibility are indispensable for electoral success.

“The people of Ekiti have reaffirmed their belief in progressive governance. By the grace of God, the people of Osun will do the same on August 15, 2026, by electing Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as the next governor of the state,” he said.

Oyintiloye commended the APC National Working Committee (NWC), led by Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman and Ajibola Bashiru, National Secretary, for providing purposeful leadership and ensuring cohesion within the party.

He also praised Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, for keeping the party united and relevant in Osun despite being out of power since 2022.

The former lawmaker said Oyetola’s leadership, combined with the growing acceptance of the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Oyebamiji (AMBO), had positioned the party favourably ahead of the election.
