Port and Terminal Multi-Services Limited (PTML) has handed over a newly furnished and ICT-enabled office complex to the Nigeria Customs Service at the Tin Can Island Port Complex in Lagos.

The facility is aimed at improving working conditions, administrative coordination and operational efficiency within the PTML Command.

Ascanio Russo, managing director at PTML , said that providing modern workspaces for regulatory agencies would enhance productivity and operational effectiveness, adding that the investment aligns with PTML’s broader push to improve port efficiency through infrastructure and technology.

“When regulatory agencies are provided with the right work environment and support, they are better positioned to carry out their responsibilities efficiently,” he said while handing over.

Receiving the facility on behalf of Customs, Comptroller Joe Anani stated that improved office infrastructure would boost officer morale, coordination and trade processing efficiency.

“A modern workplace like this has a direct impact on the efficiency and motivation of officers,” Anani said, adding that the complex would strengthen the command’s ability to facilitate legitimate trade and enforce compliance.

Stakeholders at the event said the development could contribute to faster cargo clearance procedures and stronger cooperation between terminal operators and regulators, amid broader efforts to improve efficiency and reduce delays across Nigeria’s ports.

Port and Terminal Multi-Services Limited is one of Nigeria’s major roll-on roll-off terminals, handling vehicle imports, container traffic and logistics services at the Tin Can Island Port Complex in Lagos.
