Oluwaseun Olukoya is a Nigerian fashion entrepreneur and the creative director of Wonderchildforkids, a fashion clothing brand that operates in Lagos, Nigeria.

Growing up, she has always been obsessed with fashion design, though she is a graduate of mass communication from Lagos State University who majored in radio and television broadcasting. She is also an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.

She started her fashion career over 10 years ago with a ready-to-wear brand for adults called Wonderchild Fashion House. Her goal was to design affordable and timeless pieces that give women access to made-in-Nigeria pieces.

Six years ago, she founded the new fashion brand Wonderchildforkids, which is currently Africa’s leading mom-and-daughter luxury couture and specializes in creating and producing high-end luxury and custom ball dresses for children and adults, as well as male clothes for birthdays, photography shoots, weddings, anniversary, school graduations, and any other special occasion.

Her brand, Wonderchildforkids, stands as one of Nigeria’s top three kids’ fashion designers, and its influence extends beyond borders. She has styled many Nigerian celebrities and their families with her unique contemporary luxury ball dresses, such as Mercy Johnson Okejie, Adeola Adeyemi, and Osasi Ighodalo’s, just to mention a few.

She draws inspiration primarily from cartoons, colors, and her daughter. She has always loved looking good and making others look better at an affordable price, an attribute that drew her to the fashion industry.

One of Oluwaseun’s strengths lies in her unique fusion of western and traditional styles, guaranteeing timeless appeal and relevancy in the fast-paced fashion industry. Her prowess has materialized into a self-sustaining fashion factory and boutique that employs over 10 skilled staff members.

Over the course of her professional career in fashion, she has successfully designed and introduced over 500 collections, each of which has won accolades from the industry both domestically and internationally. Her designs, which encompass both adult and children’s ball dresses and boys’ suits, have garnered global recognition and adoration.

Her outstanding communication abilities, which are essential for interacting with a wide range of clients, complement her expertise in fashion design. Notably, her extensive overseas clientele, with daily shipments to various countries, including the UK, USA, France, German, South Africa and many more, attests to her international acclaim.

Beyond her commercial success, she uses her talent to serve others by running a mentoring and training program that helps new and rising Nigerian designers succeed and compete on a worldwide scale, both onsite and online. Her mentoring initiatives have empowered over 1000 fashion designers, nurturing their growth on both local and global stages.

She has been prominently featured in fashion events, daily newspapers, magazines, Instagram, and broadcast interviews on the Wake-Up Nigeria show on TVC Entertainment. Her brand’s recognition as the Kids Brand of the Year at the LA Mode Green October Awards in 2019 and subsequent re-nomination in 2023 underscore her consistent excellence.

Oluwaseun’s goal is to push locally made products to the world on a global scale at a cheaper and more affordable rate.

Her short-term goal is to showcase her brand on the African fashion week in London, Paris Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, and the London Fashion Week runway.

Her long-term goals are to set up Wonderchildforkids stores all over the world and to become one of Nigeria’s leading manufacturing hubs for clothing for other micro-fashion businesses.
