A two-storey residential building in the Kubwa district of Abuja collapsed on Saturday morning around 7 am, trapping several residents inside.
Emergency responders, including personnel from the Federal Fire Service (FFS), FCT Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and FCT Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), are currently on-site conducting rescue operations. So far, two individuals have been rescued, but at least one person is still believed to be trapped.

Nkechi Isa, the spokesperson for FCT Emergency Management Agency, confirmed that their search and rescue team is actively working at the scene.
She revealed that there are efforts to rescue a third person still trapped inside a flat.
Witnesses at the scene reported hearing voices from the rubble, indicating that there may be more individuals trapped. The rescue teams are meticulously working to ensure the safety of all trapped residents.
