Makinde sends amendment bill to lawmakers

FG needs to tackle insecurity now before it gets out of hands – Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde has forwarded an amendment bill to reposition the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery for better service delivery to the state House of Assembly.

The bill seeks to amend the law which established Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery law 2005 and make the college meet up its accreditation requirements.

Reading the letter during Tuesday’s plenary; speaker of the house, Adebo Ogundoyin, quoted the governor as saying it was the focus of his administration to make tertiary institutions in the state better than he met them.

The amendment bill further seeks to provide for the establishment of satellite campuses, provide for the heads of department of satellite campuses, provide for a more robust membership of the governing council of the college, amend the membership of the finance and general-purpose committee.

Consequently, a bill to amend the Oyo State College of Nursing and Midwifery Bill, 2005 was read for the first time at the plenary.
