The Nigerian pharmaceutical market valued over $2 billion continues to expand due to demand for locally produced medicines. Gaps exist in quality control infrastructure, access to laboratory technologies, and regulatory expectations constrain sector ability to scale and compete.

Against this backdrop, LS Scientific featured at Pharma West Africa 2026, joining stakeholders across the value chain to address these challenges and explore pathways for industry advancement.

The exhibition brought together regulators, manufacturers, and solution providers, serving as a platform for knowledge exchange and introduction of technologies aimed at improving pharmaceutical quality and operational efficiency.

At the event, LS Scientific showcased a range of technologies from partners ERWEKA Germany, IKA Germany, Metrohm Switzerland, Astell UK, VELP Italy, Chemlab Belgium, Wasserlab Spain, Phenomenex USA, DWK UK, ELGA UK, Scharlab Spain and VWR UK.

“we are glad to contribute to its growth by showcasing a range of solutions for the sector.” said Murewa Odunjo Managing director LS Scientific.

Industry response at the exhibition reflected appetite for innovation. Several attendees noted encountering equipment not previously available in the Nigerian market, while others highlighted breadth of solutions as indicating a combined approach to laboratory operations.

“The diversity of laboratory equipment here reflects where the industry needs to go,” one attendee said, referencing the role of laboratory systems in strengthening compliance and consistency.

The Managing Director indicated the company participation as part of a broader picture scheme and announced a scheme allowing pharmaceutical companies purchase capital equipment, instrument, chemicals and consumables at discounted rate and six-payment plan to ease capital requirement.

As the exhibition concluded, stakeholders reiterated priority: advancing the pharmaceutical sector will depend on investment in infrastructure, expanded access to technology, and continued collaboration across ecosystems.

Participants included regulatory agencies, manufacturers and distributors. Discussions covered laboratory workflow, testing procedures, and supply chain processes. Exhibitors demonstrated instruments used for testing, measurement, and quality control.

Meetings were held between stakeholders to review adoption of equipment and training needs. Follow-up actions were discussed for collaboration between organisations. Focus remained on implementation and access to laboratory systems within the sector. Future meetings were scheduled among participating organisations after the exhibition ended.
