Kwara partners United Nations to strengthens health sector

The Kwara State Government says it is partnering United Nations to strengthen health care delivery in the State.

The government, however, declared its unwavering commitment to EU-Strengthening Access To Reproductive and Adolescent Health (SARAH), programme, so as to ensure sustenance in the State.

Amina Ahmed El-Imam, Commissioner for Health, gave the assurance while receiving delegation from United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) shortly after the launch of SARAH project in Ilorin, the State capital.

El-Imam expressed excitement of the State Government to partner the bodies on a project aimed at addressing reproductive, maternal, newborn, child health nutrition and meant to improve the health and well-being of the Kwarans.

Abigail Mseunburi; the representative of the development partners; UNFPA and the Head of Lagos Liaison office, Idris Baba;
Health Specialist – UNICEF, commended the State Government for its efforts at ensuring the sustenance of the project in the State.

They however enjoined government to be steadfast and remained committed to the project, for the benefit of all, assuring Government of technical supports and other necessary assistance, to ensure the project achieved a huge success.
