Tribunal rules on Atiku’s live broadcast motion today

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) presidential candidate on Wednesday, expressed concern over the escape of hardened criminals from the Kuje Custodial Center, Abuja.

Atiku in a message on his Twitter handle, said he is concerned and saddened by reports of the attack on Kuje Prison by suspected terrorists.

“My concern arises not only from the prospects of the escape of detained terrorists and hardened criminals but of its implications for the security of lives and property to residents of Abuja and its environs” he tweeted.

He blamed the country’s “inability to enthrone a regime of law and order in which the arrest and prosecution of criminals will be made a priority as a deterrent to copycats” as the reason why insecurity continues to fester in our country.

This is as the party on Wednesday, received report of the Osun reconciliation committee headed by Eyitayo Jegede.

Submitting the reports of the nine members committee, Jegede, said the committee “concentrated for now on Osun state, because of the election that is coming by the grace of God on the 16th of this month”.

He expressed hopes that the party will win in Osun
“ We concentrated for now on Osun because of the governorship election coming on July 16 and we are quite hopefully because of what we have seen.

He disclosed that the waring parties have agreed to work together for the interests of the PDP, adding Thebes” we were also able to extract commitments from all the sides, that the only way to achieve success is if we have a united front.

“ We have done what we should do. And it is my privilege and honor to submit this report to us on behalf of the other members of the Constitution committee.

Acting Chairman of the party, Aliyu Damagun, commended the committee for doing a good job and urged all members to join hands to work for the victory of the party.
