Darren Watkins Jr., the American YouTuber and livestreamer popularly known as IShowSpeed, joked about obtaining a Nigerian passport after meeting Seyi Tinubu and his children at the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.

The light-hearted exchange took place in the VIP section of the stadium shortly after Spain defeated Argentina 1-0 after extra time to lift the World Cup trophy. A livestream shared by the 21-year-old content creator showed him greeting Seyi Tinubu and posing for photographs with his children before quipping, “Tell your dad to get me a Nigerian passport,” drawing laughter from those around him.

Earlier in the day, IShowSpeed featured in the tournament’s closing ceremony, opening the pre-match entertainment with a performance of his latest single, “World Cup (Champions),” alongside drummers and dancers.

Recall that the streamer visited Nigeria earlier this year during his Speed Does Africa tour. During his stay in Lagos, IShowSpeed livestreamed visits to popular landmarks, including Freedom Park, Nike Art Gallery and parts of Lagos Island, attracting thousands of fans who followed him through the city. He also met Nigerian music stars Davido and Zlatan Ibile, celebrated his 21st birthday in Lagos and surpassed 50 million YouTube subscribers during the visit.

The streamer is known for his energetic livestreams centred on gaming, football and travel. He has built one of the world’s largest online audiences, with more than 53 million YouTube subscribers and billions of video views. He has collaborated with football stars, celebrities and other global creators which also fuelled his popularity.
