Last two weeks in Port Harcourt, a reggae star who was in the spirit said the killings in Plateau State and the middle belt were not unknown to God Almighty. Jah Device said he has been inspired to know that God has a reason for allowing the persecution of a people, adding that God will arise at the appropriate time to put an end to it. He said God would arise and smite the killers.

Before the prophecy could sink in, Brother Joseph Omokhoa, preaching at the House of Favour Church, Odani, in Elelenwo area of Port Harcourt, said God will surely arise for Nigeria.

Speaking on Nigeria and insecurity, Bro Joseph regretted that insecurity has been weaponised, but that God has an agenda. He said he has devoted time to seek the face of God over the killings in Nigeria and even begged God to recommission that Angel that slaughtered evildoers in thousands in the days of old to come back for duty. He said God has reassured him on that.

Bro Joseph thus told Christians not to be depressed by the killings. “All the missile bombing in the war in Iran has not killed 20,000, while the angel of the Lord alone killed more.”

He gave the sermon when the Correspondents Chapel of the Rivers State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), led by Amaechi Okonkwo, went for the ‘Thanksgiving Church Service’ to mark the end of the 2026 Press Week.

He urged Christians to ensure the presence of God was still with them like in the old. “Beware, else the Cloud (presence of God) leaves the Tabernacle without your notice. So, be in the Spirit all the time. Staying with the scriptures will help man created in the image of God to be in the likeness of God.

“Man has spirit, soul, and body. The spirit died when Adam sinned. Christ came to return it with a Quickening Spirit. Submit to teaching and recover your lost spirit.

“Be in one love because harvest is coming, judgment is coming. Way out? Work in the Spirit. How? Study the Scripture steadily. It’s a responsibility.”

Speaking, Okonkwo said God had spared Correspondents in Rivers State again until 2026, thus the need to thank God.
