Ikpeazu seeks NIS support to attract investments into Abia

Abia to set up waste management/traffic task force to sanitise Aba

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has appealed to the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) to support the state’s quest to attract fresh investments.

Ikpeazu made the call while receiving Samuel Ngini, comptroller of NIS, Abia State command, who paid him a courtesy call.

He challenged Ngini to use his good offices to assist the state’s drive for foreign investors through the expeditious processing of legitimate requests for residence permits and other forms of applications from foreigners.

Ikpeazu told the comptroller that by virtue of his office, he should be a part of the state security committee, going forward.

The governor assured that the Abia command of the NIS would continue to receive the support and cooperation of the state government.

He added that his administration was ready to cooperate with all federal agencies in Abia, more so when such agencies work for the security of the people.

Ikpeazu said his administration was committed to strengthening security architecture in the state by ensuring synergy between the state government and all the security agencies.

Ngini told Ikpeazu that he was at the Government House, Umuahia, to formally report to the governor and inform him of his resumption of duties, as the 21st Comptroller of immigration in Abia State.

He thanked the governor for the support the state command of the NIS has enjoyed over the years and assured that the command would support the state government, especially in the area of security with special reference to the movement of foreigners and aliens.
