Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Igboho, has expressed concerns over the growing lack of patriotism among Nigerians, citing corruption, insecurity, and the country’s economic struggles as the primary causes.
In a video shared online on Thursday, Igboho, who was filmed at an airport in the United Kingdom, lamented the state of the nation, claiming that these issues have led many citizens to abandon pride in their national identity.
He argued that if Nigeria cannot function as a unified country, ethnic groups should be allowed to go their separate ways.

“Even inside the airport, there is no security. They can steal your belongings inside your bag. All these are the things dissuading people from being proud of the country, Nigeria,” Igboho said.
The separatist also praised Yoruba youths, many of whom have travelled worldwide, for their global knowledge and experience. He expressed confidence that they would transform the Yoruba nation into a prosperous and modern society similar to those in Europe.
“Things like that make us sad to identify ourselves as Nigerians. This is why we advocate for separation. If Nigeria is not working as a country, we should go our separate ways,” he stated.
Igboho’s comments further fuel the ongoing debate about Nigeria’s unity and the calls for secession from various ethnic groups, with many questioning the viability of the country as a vibrant nation.
