GLG Communications leverages PR to improve performance in manufacturing sector

As part of its contributions in helping businesses connect more with the public as well as improve their communications template, PR power house, GLG Communications facilitated a panel discussion that will help the manufacturing sector boost its fortunes.

GLG Communications at the Equipment and Manufacturing West Africa (EMWA) conference held in Lagos forged path on how to leverage public relations and communications to enhance growth for industries and manufacturers.

The panel discussion with the theme, “Why Public Relations Matters to Manufacturers: Role of Public Relations in Developing Manufacturing Industries” was moderated by Omawumi Ogbe, managing partner of GLG communications and consummate PR expert. Olusegun McMedal, chairman, Lagos State Chapter, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR); O’tega Ogra, group head, Corporate Communications, BUA Group; and Rafiat Gawat head, Corporate Communications, TGI Group were panelists.

At the end of the eye opening session, attendees and exhibitors were able to take away tips and nuggets on how to leverage public relations and communications to enhance growth for industries and manufacturers.

GLG Communications said its decision to participate in the EMWA conference was borne out of the need to further deepen ongoing conversations around communications and technology in relation to its impact on business, society, and culture around the globe.

The firm shared that as a first time partner at the EMWA, it was committed to driving a revolution in the manufacturing ecosystem in Nigeria and by extension, Africa.

Ogbe observed that rapid advancement in digital communication has resulted in a shift in consumer behaviour, noting also that the session’s theme was germane considering that it was important manufacturers step up in their deliveries to increase visibility for their work and leverage new communications strategies to advance their brands and attract more support and investment.

Effective communication is potent in the creation of brand identity and also heralds the possibility of increasing turnover because when people identify with a brand based on their perception of that brand, the chances that they would do business with that brand would increase.” he said.

The overall goal of the EMWA exhibition and conference is to help businesses reconnect after a horrific 2020 occasioned by the pandemic. The EMWA conference and partners stated that they will be happy to see all business executives, representatives and players in the industrial sector increase their turnovers from the opportunities the platform has created.
