A night fire has destroyed the popular Jattu Community market in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, leaving business owners in unimaginable grief.
The incident happened barely six months after over some 100-year-old trees, succumbed to a windstorm and crushed four traders to death after an early heavy downpour at the market.
The raging night fire occurred at about 8p.m on Tuesday, destroying stock worth millions of naira and burnt shops and stalls at the market.

The cause of Tuesday’s fire that raged for several minutes, has yet to be ascertained.
Some traders who returned to the ruins of their properties after the disaster, wept profusely over the losses they have incurred.
It was gathered that Jattu residents could not salvage much property from the inferno which swept through the marketplace.
The Local Government authority took steps to trace relatives of the victims and carried out remedial work and provided livelihood support packages for those who suffered losses during the previous disaster.
