FG distributes 44,656 bags of grains to vulnerable residents of FCT

In an effort to alleviate hunger and provide relief, the Federal Government has distributed 44,656 bags of grains to vulnerable residents of the six Areas Councils of the nation’s capital.

Mariya Mahmoud, the Minister of State for the FCT, while presenting the food items to the six Area Councils for distribution recently in Abuja, urged them to ensure judicious distribution of the items.

The food items presented to the residents include 23,996 bags of 25 kilograms of rice; 4,680 bags of 50 kilograms of maize; 13,920 bags of 50 kilograms of sorghum; 1,100 bags of 50 kilograms of millet, and 960 bags of 25 kilograms of gari.

She stated that this effort aims to address the severe food shortages affecting Nigerians, particularly the poor and vulnerable.

The minister expressed gratitude to the federal government, emphasizing that the distribution will help ease the burden of food scarcity for the poor.

Mahmoud urged residents to remain orderly and cooperate with the distribution teams.
