Dare Adeboye Foundation donates digital library to school in Lagos

Leke Adeboye, lead pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Youth Province 1 has commissioned a digital library donated by Dare Adeboye Foundation in collaboration with the church to Sogunle Primary School in Ikeja-Lagos.

Leke, who is also the senior personal assistant to Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the general overseer of RCCG in his speech during the commissioning emphasised the importance of education to a people.

“Education is the most important thing. Even Jesus came to educate the 12 disciples so that they can educate the rest of the world. When you educate a child, you have equipped them for life. You can take everything I have away from me, but you cannot take away what is inside my head,” he said.

Also on the ground to grace the occasion was Mojeed Alabi Balogun, the honourable chairman of Ikeja Local Government who was represented by Pelumi Ologonje, the honourable supervisor for education.

Balogun in his speech expressed his delight in the commissioning of the library and renovation works in the school. He noted that such projects as well as individual support are key to the enhancement of society.

Folakemi Ajayi, the head of the education department for the Local Government noted that such a project is an investment into the future of both the currently enrolled pupils and those yet to be born.

The new library features books, furniture, and computers. The computers were a notable addition because the pupils previously had to visit another school for every computer period.

In addition to the digital library, the RCCG Youth Province 1 parish, Living Seed Church is known as the ‘Bridge’ also renovated the toilets and restored an abandoned classroom.

Edith Ehirim, the headmistress of the school expressed her profound joy and gratitude for the intervention by the church.

The digital library donation is the second corporate social responsibility (CSR) project carried out by RCCG, the Bridge following a hospital drive for new mothers in the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in the month of March where hospital bills were paid and mother-child care packages were received.

The RCCG Charity, His Love Foundation showed their support at the commissioning.
