COVID-19: Tisco industries donates items to Ondo State

The Tisco industries limited has donated antiseptic liquids, sanitisers, table water and liquid germicide to Ondo State government to curb the spread of the coronavirus in the state.

Presenting the items on Wednesday at the ministry of health, Alagbaka Akure, chairman of the company, Isaac Tapire, said the fight against Covid-19 should be a collective one. He said it was in that regard that the company donated the items.

According to Tapire, even though it was the responsibility of the government to stop the spread of the virus, the government alone could not fight the battle alone.

Speaking in the same vein, Benji Oloye, the acting managing director, Tisco industries limited, said “we just felt that we should do our own bit to curtail the Covid-19 pandemic in the state. We’re not doing this because we want government to patronise us but we are paying back to the societies.”

Oloye, therefore, appealed to the state government to continue to provide preventive measures in order to contain the spread of the virus in the state.

Receiving the items on behalf of the state government, Dipo Durojaye, the permanent secretary, ministry of health said the items came at a time it was most needed.

He said that the people of Ondo State were grateful to the company for the timely release of the items, which would go a long way in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

Durojaye noted that the Coronavirus pandemic required the efforts of everyone in the society and called on individuals and organizations to assist in the fight against the scourge in the state.

“We are using this medium to implore other industries, philanthropists, individuals to please come to our aides, because government alone cannot do it. It requires individuals collaborations,” Durojaye said.
