Femi Fani-Kayode, former Minister of Aviation, has been acquitted and discharged by the Ikeja Special Offences Court in Lagos on 4th February 2025.
He was facing 12 forgery-related charges filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The charges stemmed from accusations that he forged a medical report in 2021 to avoid trial in another case, allegedly hiring Ogieva Oziegbe to produce the false document.

The trial judge, Olubunmi Abike-Fadipe, ruled that the EFCC had failed to establish a strong enough link between Fani-Kayode and the alleged offences.
After reviewing the evidence presented by the prosecution, the judge concluded that there was insufficient proof to support the charges, stating that the prosecution had not made a prima facie case.
As a result, Fani-Kayode was acquitted and discharged.
