Construction of 29km Lere South Road, others will reduce security challenges – PDP Stalwart

A stalwart of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Lere South, Tafawa-Balewa Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Friday said that the construction of road in Lere, Marti, Sara, Gambar and Boi communities will reduce insecurity challenges in the zone.

In an exclusive interview with our correspondent, Babangida said that the construction of the roads would also improve their businesses.

He said that it has been long that the axis was without good road and always battling with bandits, armed robbery, kidnappers and other criminal activities.

According to him, criminals are taking advantage of bad roads to always attack the zone, but with the construction everything will come to and end.

He further said that all the past governors of the state abandoned their zone, but with the doggedness of Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir during the third executive council meeting approved the construction of the 29km road with the sum of N11 billion.

Recalling that Governor Bala in the last two months he visited the district palace of Lere to sympathise with the kdnapped victims, donated cash worth N10 billion, provided vigilantes group with thirty (30) motor cycles and other things to help and protect the lives and property of the people in the area.

“Before, we preferred to take our farm produce to markets for sell in the neighboring Plateau State and than our own Bauchi State for lack of road, but with this latest development, we will be selling within the state,” he said.

Babangida advised the residents of the affected communities should support the government in all its activities for the development of Tafawa-Balewa Local Government, Bauchi State and Nigeria at large.

He also promised to give massive support to the road constractors from the beginning of the work to the end.
