The new Commissioner of Works and Transport in Bauchi State, Titus Saul Ketkukah, resumed work on Monday, urging staff to embrace the spirit of teamwork for the development of the state.
Ketkukah, who addressed the staff of the ministry shortly after a handover ceremony at the ministry’s conference hall, stated that he would not tolerate lateness to work.
Before he was appointed the Commissioner for Works and Transport, Titus Saul Ketkukah was the Head of Department and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria.
The Commissioner said that, with God’s help, he would build on the good work of his predecessors.
According to the Commissioner: “My task is to deliver on what the state governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir, has appointed me to do.
“We’ll collaborate with other agencies and professional bodies in order to achieve our goals in terms of infrastructural development in the state.”
He urged the good people of Bauchi State to continue praying for them so they could start well and finish strong, ensuring that the people saw the dividends of democracy in the state.
The Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah, also called on the directors and all staff in the ministry to fully support him and work as a team for the development of the ministry, Bauchi State, and Nigeria at large.
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Engr. Muh’d Hamisu Garba, the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, assured the Commissioner of their maximum support, as they had provided to others in the ministry.
“Leadership is all about holding a position and making a difference in the lives of the people,” he said. He also expressed optimism that the new Commissioner would facilitate the Governor’s vision for infrastructural growth and development for the betterment of the people.
The Permanent Secretary, Garba, thanked Governor Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir for appointing Civil Engineer Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah as Commissioner for the Ministry of Works and Transport.
