Bauchi State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Titus Saul Ketkukah, a professor, has expressed satisfaction with the smooth completion of 41.70km Rimin Zayyam – Polchi – Palama, Rishi, Tulu and Tama road construction in Toro Local Government Area of the state.
The commissioner expressed his happiness during a visit to the project site over the weekend, thanking the contractor for what he described as good job.
He said: “The project benefitting communities included Rimin Zayyam, Polchi, Palama, Rishi, Tulu and Tama, all in Toro Local Government Area of the state.
“I am however, impressed with the ongoing work on the 40.20km Geljaule – Lame Road which I also request for quality control test to include density, concrete cube and CBR tests.”
Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah who also inspected the ongoing Rimin Zayyam town ship and Nabordo bye-pass road project, however attributed the slow pace of the project to non-payment of compensation.

The Village Head also said that the road construction will definitely reduce the issue of bad road and level of security challenges in the affected communities.
Professor Titus Saul Ketkukah has also inspected the ongoing 12.5km Dass – Wandi – Dur-Dado Road project in Dass Local Government which was awarded six weeks ago with the level of work reaching 30% completion.
According to the commissioner, “The construction materials look sub-standard and I would request for quality control test with the result to be made available to my ministry, and I am directing the principal resident engineer to do his job.”
While the principal resident engineer of the Chinese Engineering and Construction Corporation (CCECC), Gomna Patrick Yakubu said that the work was expected to last for 24 dry months.
