Ex-Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Monday held a private meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo at his Abeokuta residence in Ogun State.
Atiku, who arrived Obasanjo’s Penthouse that is located within Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta at about 12:36pm, held a private meeting with his former Principal which lasted for about two hours.
BusinessDay reports that Atiku entered into the private meeting with Obasanjo in company of Abdul Ahmed Ningi, a Senator representing Bauchi Central; Liyel Imoke, former Governor of Cross River State; Aminu Tambuwal, former Governor of Sokoto State and Oyewole Fasawe, Obasanjo’s personal friend and few others.

Although journalists were not allowed into the meeting, the speculation that trailed the private meeting held in Abeokuta was not unconnected with political permutations ahead of 2027 General Elections as many people believed that Atiku Abubakar came to see Obasanjo ahead of the 2027 Presidential ambition that he might be secretly nursing.
But, speaking with some journalists who were loitering around Olusegun Obasanjo’s residence afterwards, Atiku dismissed 2027 Presidential ambition, saying he came on a courtesy visit to his former boss, whom he served as Nigeria’s President between 1999 and 2007.
“It is a courtesy visit. I’m not going to talk about 2027 or politics. I’m not here because of 2027,” Atiku declared.
