The All Progressives Congress (APC) has revised its list of senatorial aspirants barred from participating in the party’s Senate primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, removing Ben Murray-Bruce, former Bayelsa East senator, from the updated compilation.
The party on Monday morning released a list containing 47 aspirants who were not cleared for the primaries. However, in a fresh update issued on Monday afternoon, Murray-Bruce’s name was omitted, reducing the number of affected aspirants to 44.
The revised list was published in a statement titled, “Updated List of APC Senatorial Aspirants Not Cleared,” signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.

Although the APC did not give reasons for the adjustment, the development indicates a review of the screening outcome ahead of the party’s senatorial primaries.
The ruling party also called on members and stakeholders to maintain confidence in the process and ensure compliance with party guidelines.
According to the statement, the APC urged all stakeholders to uphold “transparency, orderliness and the integrity of the ongoing primary election process.”
The party is currently conducting primaries nationwide in preparation for the 2027 elections, with internal contests intensifying across several states and constituencies.
