Alsec Nominees targets improved corporate governance in Nigeria

Alsec Nominees, a company secretarial firm, has unveiled its fresh brand identity to improve corporate governance in Nigeria. The announcement, made during a press briefing held in Lagos recently, marks a milestone for the company established 37 years ago as the company secretarial arm of the law firm Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie.

During the event, Oyindamola Ehiwere, the CEO of Alsec Nominees Limited, expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “We are delighted to have you with us today as we celebrate this great milestone of unveiling our new brand, logo, and website.”

Speaking further, Ehiwere provided a brief history of Alsec, noting its establishment on December 15, 1987, as the company secretarial arm of the law firm Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie. She also acknowledged the company’s enduring success, expressing joy at the presence of long-standing clients and former employees at the event.

Ehiwere also assured clients of Alsec’s commitment to excellence and quality service, emphasising, “With Alsec, you are assured of the best corporate governance support for your organisation.”

In a goodwill message, Udoma Udo Udoma, the founder of the Nigeria law firm Udo Udoma & Belo-Osagie, shared the firm’s initial objectives for setting up Alsec in 1987.

“The main objective was the provision of incorporation services to clients wishing to set up businesses in Nigeria and assisting those clients with the corporate administration of their companies,” he explained.

Furthermore, Jumoke Lambo, director of Alsec Nominees Limited, further highlighted the evolution of Alsec from a core company secretarial firm to a comprehensive corporate governance and compliance services practice. Lambo commended the dedicated team of 10 professionals at Alsec, emphasising their role in the firm’s growth.

The rebranding event also featured Aniekan Ukpanah, a partner at Udo Udoma and Belo-Osagie, who spoke about the firm’s commitment to building an institution that stands the test of time. Reflecting on the growth of Alsec, Ukpanah expressed excitement about the rebranding, stating that, “Alsec Nominees is arguably the largest company secretarial firm in Nigeria with over 300 clients.”

He acknowledged the clients’ role in Alsec’s success, thanking them for their dedication and loyalty. Ukpanah emphasised Alsec’s commitment to providing excellent service and expressed hope that the rebranding would propel the firm to greater heights in the company secretarial space.

The event was attended by notable figures, including Chairman of PAL Pensions, Junaid Dikko, and pioneer employee of Alsec Nominees Limited, Aduke Gomez, among others.
