All is not well with Nigeria – Obasanjo

Presidentialism: Obasanjo still defends the costly system he foisted on Nigeria

A former president of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has said that all was not well with the country at the moment, he however, assured that all would be well.

Obasanjo made the observation in Abeokuta, Ogun State, when he visited the Global crusade ground of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM) which started last Thursday.

Addressing the congregants, Obasanjo said: “Except those who do not want to be honest to themselves; they will say all is well in Nigeria. All is not well. But if you trust in God and if you believe in Jesus Christ, all will be well.”

Expressing appreciation for the invitation extended to him and the dogedness of the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Bible Church (DLBC), Pastor William Folorunsho Kumuyi, the former president said: “When you consider what is going on in our country; what is going on in West Africa, in our Continent of Africa; the whole world, our city, our state, our country, regions, it deserves the crusade of this nature.”

He urged Kumuyi, the crusade organisers and the Christendom in general not to be discouraged by what the world says, noting that same things were said to the saints of old, including Jesus Christ.

“Some people accuse us of religiosity without spirituality, that has been even during the time of Jesus Christ. But must we lose hope? No. In the time of Noah, he stood out. I believe that because of men and women like that in Nigeria today, God will have mercy on this country,” Obasanjo said.

He urged Nigerians not to lose hope, saying: “Whatever that may be our situation, and whatever that may be our condition, let us have faith in God abd all will be well.”
