Akwa Ibom is pushing for the consolidation of its emerging status as an aviation hub with Ibom Air moving into the international wing of the Victor Attah international Airport with effect immediately.
The airline, wholly owned by the Akwa Ibom State Government launched its international operations last month with a flight to Ghana, West Africa and is set to begin a new phase of development as it moves into the modern terminal building at the Airport.
With more than nine aircraft in its fleet, the Airline, which recently marked seven years of successful operations, is fast-tracking world class air transportation from Uyo as its operational base.
According to Aniekan Essienette, the Airline’s Manager, Marketing and Communication, “the new terminal offers enhanced, improved operational efficiency and modern facilities designed to provide a seamless travel experience from check-in to boarding and arrival.”
She explained that the “transition marked another significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to enhance air travel and deliver world-class service to passengers.”
She advised travellers to take note of the new arrangement and to proceed to the new terminal for all Ibom Air flights from June 14 .
Before now, it was operating from a small terminal as a domestic airline but with its international status, the ultramodern terminal is set to offer a new travel experience to its passengers.
