Ajaokuta Steel workers urged to support current Initiative of President Buhari to revitalise the company

Sumaila Abdul-Akaba, the Sole Administrator of Ajaokuta Steel has charged the management, workers, and the unions to support the current initiative of President Muhammadu Buhari to revitalise the only integrated steel company in the country.

He gave the charge in his new year message to the staff of the company, adding that this was necessary to ensure that their collective efforts will take them across the Bridge.

Abdul-Akaba urged the staff of the company to continue with a positive disposition and firm commitment to defend the Ajaokuta Steel Dream as always, as he assured them that the prayers and efforts of the workers shall be crowned with success to the glory of God and the development of Nigeria.

The statement also said “Let me, therefore, take this opportunity to once more thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his abiding faith in a functional Ajaokuta Steel Plant.

“I also wish to thank our Minister, Arc. Olamilekan Adegbite and his colleague, the Minister of State, Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Oluwatoyin Akinlade, and the entire leadership of the Ministry of Mines and Steel Development for
sustaining hope and driving the Ajaokuta Dream to fruition.”
