…Mohammed swears in 8 commissioners in Bauchi
Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has approved the dissolution of the State Executive Council with immediate effect.
Governor Aiyedatiwa, in a statement made available to journalists on Wednesday in Akure by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, however, exempted two members of the cabinet from the dissolution due to the critical nature of their duties.
According to Aiyedatiwa, the two members of the cabinet are the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Kayode Ajulo and the Commissioner for Finance, Omowunmi Isaac.

Meanwhile, the Edo State House of Assembly has screened and confirmed six Commissioner-nominees for the State Governor Monday Okpebholo as members of the State Executive Council.
The House also confirmed seven members of the State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC).
The names of the nominees were on January 7, 2025 forwarded to the House by the State Governor Monday Okpebholo through the letter signed by Umar Musa Ikhilor, Secretary to the State Government and addressed to Blessing Agbebaku, the Speaker of the House.
BusinessDay reports that the six nominees confirmed by the House are Paul Nosayaba Ohonbamu, Washington Osa Osifo,
Lucky Eseigbe, Andrew Ijegbai, Marie Olabisi Idaomi and Paddy Iyamu.
Similarly, the Edo State House of Assembly also confirmed the nominees for the Edo State Independent Electoral Commission, (EDSIEC).
The confirmed members are Jonathan Aifuobhokhan as Chairman; Anthony Aigbokhomhan, Suleiman Ikhuoria, Umoru Frank, Imafidon Osarodion, Ojo Asein and Ighomo Egharevba as members.

Meanwhile, the House also passed the Secret Cult Prohibition Law and a Bill for a law to provide for the extension of retirement age of Magistrates and Presidents of Area Customary Court in Edo State.
In Bauchi State, Governor Bala Mohammed on Wednesday
swore in the newly appointed eight Commissioners, having been confirmed by the Bauchi State House of Assembly at the swearing-in ceremony held at the Executive Council Chamber of the State Government House.
BusinessDay reports that those sworn in as Commissioners include Usman Usman Shehu as Commissioner for Information and Communication; Iliyasu Aliyu Gital as Commissioner fof Agriculture; Bala Musa Lukshi as Commissioner for.Livestock Development; Isa Babayo Tilde as Commissioner for the Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Titus Saul Ketkukah, a Professor as the Commissioner for Works and Transport.
Others are Adamu Babayo Gabarin as the Commissioner for the Ministry of Youth and Sports; Abdullahi Mohammed as Commissioner for the Ministry of Lands and Survey and Lawal Mohammed Rimin Zayam as Commissioner for Ministry of Education.
