The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has apprehended a notorious gang leader, Abubakar Idris, also known as “Nishi,” along with his accomplices, Buhari Saidu and Musa Ahmadu Suleiman.
The suspects are accused of the gruesome murder of Ibrahim Danfulani and the theft of 18 cows.
This arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by Josephine Adeh, Police Public Relations Officer for the FCT Command, on Monday.
According to the police, the tragic incident occurred on November 27, 2024, and stemmed from Nishi’s deep frustration over Ibrahim’s plans to marry a woman in whom he had reportedly made significant financial investments.

It noted that investigations revealed that the gang, armed with knives, launched a deadly attack on Ibrahim, resulting in his untimely death.
“As if the murder was not enough, the gang also stole 18 of Ibrahim’s cows, which they claimed as compensation for Nishi’s “losses.”
“Abubakar Idris fled the scene of the crime but was later tracked and arrested in Nasarawa State.
“Reports indicate that he was planning to recruit new gang members to return and kill the woman at the center of the conflict”, the statement reads.
The Police revealed that the arrest of all suspects was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the FCT Police Command and residents of the Agaita community in Karu.
“The suspects are now in police custody and will face prosecution to ensure justice for the victim and his family”, it added.
