NSE rises 0.37% in early trade after 6-day bear run
The Nigerian Stock Exchange All Share Index rose 0.37 percent to 30,999.60 points in early trade, Friday, buoyed by gains recorded by Cement Company of Northern Nigeria (CCNN), Guaranty Trust Bank, Sterling Bank and United Bank for Africa.
The Lagos bourse had recorded six straight days of losing streak. But as at 11.30 AM Nigerian time, CCNN appreciated 4.50 percent to N20.90. Guaranty Trust Bank gained 2.35 percent to N37, Sterling Bank surged 4.70 percent to N2.45, while UBA extended its previous gains by 1.95 percent to N7.85.
Conversely, Okomu Oil plunged 1.25 percent to N79, while Jaiz Bank shed 1.85 percent to 53 kobo. Access Bank and Cadbury lost 0.72 percent and 0.91 percent to N6.85 and N10.90, respectively.
