Learning about global markets and economic trends will afford Nigerians the opportunity to diversify their investment portfolios and to compete effectively in an ever globalised world, experts at a workshop on global investment have said.

Describing Nigeria as an emerging market with lots of potentials, they advised that trading and investments in global equities, precious metals, forex, etc will further empower the people and improve their chances in mitigating adverse effects of current and future global events.

The experts, including Amro Zakaria, Managing Director, Market Trader Academy (MTA) and Steven Santamouris, Chief Business Development Officer, World Wide Markets Limited (WWM), who are veterans of Wall Street with 14 and 17 years experience respectively, spoke at the workshop titled “Learn to trade and invest in global markets”, at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.

To make Nigerians more aware of the risks and opportunities presented by the global market, the Market Trader Academy, according to Zakaria, offers specialised educational programmes and series of courses designed to familiarise traders and investors with the world’s largest and most active capital markets.

This, he said, will enable Nigerians to learn in real time, how these markets work, why they are so heavily traded and how they can participate in them. Furthermore, clients will receive accredited certificates upon the successful completion of the “Global Markets” programme.
