Bestman Games partners Lamudi on African editions of Monopoly

Bestman Games, the foremost African games company and the African distributor of customised editions of Monopoly, the world famous property trading board game owned by Hasbro, has entered into partnership with Lamudi on the African editions of Monopoly board game. Lamudi, launched in 2013, is a global property portal focusing exclusively on emerging markets and Nigeria’s largest property marketplace. According to a statement by both organisations, Monopoly is one of the most popular and internationally recognised board games in the world. Serving both as an appealing past time as well as an educational tool, Monopoly challenges players to combine financial discipline, risk and responsibility in a fun and engaging way.

The African editions of Monopoly, the statement said, are designed to enhance the profile of real estate in Africa’s rapidly advancing cities, under- scoring both the vast opportunities for investing in African real estate as well as encouraging tourism. Explaining the collaboration, Nimi Akinkugbe, CEO, Bestman Games, expressed her delight at the collaboration. She said: “As Bestman Games embarks on an exciting phased rollout of editions of Monopoly across 48 African countries, Lamudi is the ideal partner, as we can rely upon their expert knowledge of African real estate values, and its network across the continent as we launch editions across Africa. “These games will in- still a sense of community and nostalgia amongst all those who love Africa, by featuring the legendary streets, neighbourhoods, landmarks and leading brands in the African city and country-specific editions.”

The company is planning to launch a series of exciting new editions of Monopoly in 2015. Also commenting, Obi Ejimofo, managing director, Lamudi Nigeria, provided insights into the degree of creativity in the partnership. He said: “On the surface, collaboration between Lamudi and Bestman Games on the world-famous property board game was immediately obvious. “The more our teams worked together, the more exciting the collaboration became. Lamudi, with ventures in 18 African markets, will ensure the African Monopoly editions leverage the most up-to-date data available. Combining a venerable offline brand with a leader in online property marketing creates fantastic new ways to introduce the brands to new markets,” the statement said.
