There are indications that President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Bashir Jamoh as the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
With the appointment, Jamoh, replaces Dakuku Peterside whose tenure is expected to end on the 10th of March , 2020, as the Director General DG of the agency.
BusinessDay sources revealed that the President approved Jamoh appointment because of his vast experience in the industry.
Peterside, an expert in management and leadership strategist was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Director General / CEO of NIMASA on the 10th of March, 2016.
He is reputed to have turned around the fortunes of the agency and tackled corruption that almost derailed the agency.
Jamoh was until his appointment the executive director for admin and finance at NIMASA, a position he will hold until he takes over at the expiration of Peterside’s tenure on the 10th of March.
Jamoh who hails from Kaduna State, is also the current president of the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA).
He holds a PhD from the University of Port Harcourt and is a specialist in logistics and transport management.
