Olukoya urges prayers for nation’s leaders, says Nigeria needs divine intervention

…As MFM celebrates 492 students with first-class

Daniel Olukoya, the general overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) has urged Nigerians to pray for those in leadership positions across the country, revealing that the country is in need of divine intervention to overcome current socioeconomic challenges.

“The Bible says, except the lord builds the house, the labor in vain that built. You can gather resources and not even be able to use it. So, what we need in Nigeria is divine intervention. The lord should lay its hands upon the whole nation, upon our leaders, so that we take the right decisions and help the people of Nigeria,” Olukoya said at the end of the 35th anniversary and convention of the ministry held at the Prayer City.

According to him, Nigerians should seek divine help rather than relying on the hand of flesh or their physical strength. “We’ve seen that the powerless powers have not helped anybody. Rather, they waste money, they waste life, and they take things away. But with the power of prayer, we’re not thinking it’s impossible,” he said.

The cleric also disclosed that the ministry has produced the largest number of first-class graduates in Nigeria, as he presented gift rewards to 492 students who graduated with first-class in the last academic session.

According to him, the GO special awards and recognition was initiated in 2011 to reward students with first-class. He disclosed that the award, currently in its 6th edition, is celebrated every five years. He further urged other students in the church to do more by paying greater attention to their academics and to equally join the MFM campus fellowship.

Speaking to the corporate existence of the country, the cleric said that there is hope for Nigeria, and that Nigerians should embrace patriotism to deepen the unity and oneness of the country. “Look at Nigeria. If you look at the map of Africa, the map of Africa looks like a gun. Nigeria is where the trigger is.”

On the next step of action for the ministry after 35 years, Olukoya said that MFM will focus more on evangelism across the globe. “The next level is for us to suffocate the whole world with the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and to spread the message of deliverance and prayer around the nations. We’ve seen that a lot of people are not interested in prayers,” Olukoya said.
