NUJ, Senator Alli condole Oyo APC chairman’s family

Oyo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) have extended deepest condolences to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State and to the family of the late Isaac Ajiboye Omodewu, chairman of APC in the state.

Omodewu, a native of Otu in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, was aged 61 having been born April 16, I963 died after a brief illness in the United States of America.

Omodewu, lawyer, was a former commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters and later served as Commissioner for Lands and Housing during the administration of the late Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

Reacting, the Senator expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Omodewu.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas and made available to newsmen on Monday in Ibadan, Alli described Omodewu’s death as a monumental loss to the party and the entire state.

He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late chairman, the APC in Oyo State, and all who were touched by Omodewu’s exemplary leadership.

According to Senator Alli, Omodewu was a man of integrity, wisdom and unwavering dedication to the progress of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State.

“His leadership was marked by a deep commitment to unity and the growth of the party, and his contributions to the political landscape of the state will never be forgotten.

“Chief Isaac Omodewu was more than just a party leader; he was a pillar of strength and a guiding light for many within our party.”

The lawmaker urged members of the party and those who knew Omodewu to honour his memory by upholding the values he stood for.

The NUJ described Omodewu’s death as a significant loss to the APC and Oyo State at large. The union recognised Omodewu’s sterling leadership qualities, both as a former Commissioner for Lands and Housing and as the chairman of APC in the state.

According to NUJ, Omodewu’s life was characterised by a deep commitment to unity and the growth of the party, adding that “his invaluable contributions to the political landscape of Oyo State will be remembered for years to come.

“He was more than a political leader; he was a pillar of strength and a beacon of guidance for many in the state. His passing is especially painful, as he leaves us at a time when his experience and leadership were most needed, just as he was meant to enjoy the fruits of his labour and dedication to the party and the people of Oyo State.

“We extend our prayers for strength and comfort to his family during this challenging time and to the APC in Oyo State as they navigate this profound loss. May the soul of the departed rest in perfect peace.”
