The Children’s Ministry of the Church of God of Prophecy (COGOP) is set to unlock the creative potentials of its teenage populations for global evangelism through the teenagers’ concert and talent show themed ‘Sing for Joy’ in Lagos.
Peter Ehigiator, concert coordinator, stated that the talent show is not only a celebration of talent, and God’s faithfulness to the lives of children in the ministry, but also a testament to the strong sense of community and faith within COGOP.
“The aim of this event is to help our younger generation grasp the true essence of worship and praising God. Additionally, it seeks to expose them to ways they can discover and develop their talents for future profitability.
“We have been prayerfully seeking the face of God to move mightily through the worship and praise of these young minds, touching lives, bringing healing and deliverance to those held captive, and reconciling souls back to the Lord through the power of the Holy Spirit,” Ehigiator stated.
According to him, the event that promises to showcase the diverse talents and unwavering faith of the adolescents within the community is scheduled to take place at the church’s main auditorium, along Ikotun-Idimu Road, Lagos on Saturday, August 31, 2024. “The concert begins at 3:00pm, while the red-carpet starts much earlier at the church auditorium.”
He stated further that the concert will showcase a diverse array of performances, such as soulful gospel music, energetic dance routines, and spoken word poetry. According to him, each act will highlight the creativity and dedication of the young participants, who have been preparing for the concert over the past few months.
He also disclosed that the special guest artist for the concert is Temilayo Abodunrin, a teenage saxophonist who uses her music to glorify God and inspire her audiences. He stated that she will perform live, leading the audience in worship and praise.
“Temilayo has had the privilege of sharing the stage with renowned musicians such as Tope Alabi, Tim Godfrey, Aramide, Onos Ariyo, Sound Sultan, Wole Oni, Agboola Shadare, Johnny Drille, Damilola and Bukola Bekes, Simi, Adekunle Gold, and Beejay Sax, among others.”
He disclosed further that one of the evening’s standout moments will be a musical performance by the COGOP teen choir, and that the audience will enjoy a series of solo performances from various ministries, showcasing individual talents within the youth ministry of the church.
Godwin Akpan, founder and Chief Creative Officer of Mascot Arthouse, one of the leading Nigerian creative design industries, has been invited as a guest speaker at the event. He will be speaking on the subject: “Identifying and Leveraging Your Talents for Professional Success.”
