In the past four decades of its existence, Greensprings School, Lagos has been contributing to the growth of Nigeria’s education system by grooming students who excel locally and internationally across various fields of endeavours, Lai Koiki, executive director of Greensprings School, has said.

Speaking in Lagos at the event to mark the 40th anniversary of the school, Koiki said Greensprings School since its establishment in 1985 has among other profound contributions groomed students with many of its alumni now captains of industries and successful entrepreneurs contributing to the prosperity of Nigeria.

According to her, in the last 40 years, Greensprings School has proved impactful, and her alumni are accomplishing giant strides across various sectors like technology, science, art, business and sports.

Koiki further said that throughout its history, the School has been a trailblazer in education, providing a nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.

“Greensprings School remains committed to promoting lifelong learning in an open, caring atmosphere that motivates students to be confident and responsible global citizens,”

The educationist said the school will continue to uphold the legacy of its founders while adapting to the ever-changing landscape of education as it looks to the future.

She said that the name Greensprings depicts growth and blossoming, describing each decade of the school’s existence as ‘dream’, ‘perseverance,’ ‘thanksgiving’ and ‘impact’.

Koiki explained that the words were chosen to describe the progression of the school from being birthed from a dream to persevering through the hurdles, then thanksgiving to God for His faithfulness and finally, the impact that the school has achieved through the years.

She said Greensprings has emerged as a leading educational institution in the 21st century, at the forefront of providing students with a world-class educational experience.

Toluwani Odukoya, a pastor at the Fountain of Life Church and an alumnus of Greensprings School in his short exhortation emphasised the calling of teachers as destiny builders.

Special musical performances by the school’s choir from the different campuses added to the day’s festivities, showcasing the diverse talents of Greensprings’ students.

On his part, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, represented Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, lauded the school as epitomising more than academics, representing character-building, innovation, and a commitment to shaping future leaders.

Highlights of the event which brought together students, parents, alumni, staff, and well-wishers, include songs of praise, prayers, and speeches that acknowledged the school’s growth and the impact it has had on generations of learners.
