Ikechukwu Emetu, deputy governor of Abia State, has said that the state is committed to fostering a business-friendly environment that will unlock opportunities for economic growth.
Emetu stated this at a stakeholder meeting for the drafting of 2024 Business Enabling Reforms Action Plan (BERAP) for Abia held at JAAC Secretariat Ogurube Layout Umuahia.
He said that the governor Alex Otti-led administration was deliberate in attracting investments and supporting entrepreneurs and small business owners.
The deputy governor, who is also the chairman for the drafting of 2024 Business Enabling Reforms Action Plan (BERAP) for Abia State, said that the meeting was a significant milestone in the collective journey towards improving the ease of doing business in the state.

He disclosed that the meeting consisted of multi-sartorial stakeholders, who play an indispensable role in shaping the future of the state business environment
Emetu urged the participants to engage actively in the meeting and contribute practical insights to ensure that the final document would not only be comprehensive but also realistic and implementable.
Agbonma Ukaobasi, senior special assistant to the governor on Ease of Doing Business, who is equally the coordinator, earlier in her speech, stated that stakeholders’ meeting was aimed at enhancing collaboration between the MDA’s and private sectors in Abia State.
Ukaobasi further stated that the BERAP was a strategy of Alex Otti’s administration to create a friendly and conducive environment for investors and business people.
She also said that people in the rural areas and people with disabilities were not being left out, as they would be creating awareness through the media and the village youth leaders.
