Rema is top Nigerian on daily global digital artist ranking

Rema is the leading Nigerian artist on the Kworbs Global Digital Artist Ranking for the week of August 7, 2024. His album, ‘HEIS,’ continues to dominate Spotify and Apple Music in Nigeria and several African countries, propelling him to the top spot among Nigerians digitally with 665 points.

Tracks like ‘Ozeba,’ ‘Calm Down,’ and ‘Hehehe’ are becoming fan favorites on the album.

Following closely behind Rema is Ayra Starr, whose meteoric rise continues unabated. With her recent album ‘The Year I Turned 21’, she has captured the hearts of fans with top tracks like ‘Santa,’ ‘Last Heartbreak Song,’ and ‘Commas,’ earning her 583 points.

Burna Boy is the next ranked Nigerian with 429 points. His contributions to ‘Tshwala Bam,’ ‘Higher,’ and the enduring hit ‘Last Last’ continue to resonate with audiences worldwide. Burna Boy recently announced the title of his next album: ‘No Sign of Weakness,’ which will be his seventh studio album.

Davido, another Afrobeats heavyweight, secures the fourth spot among Nigerians with 352 points. His songs ‘Ogechi,’ ‘Kante,’ and ‘Feel’ are his most streamed songs currently.

Tems, known for her soulful voice and unique style, rounds out the top five with 253 points. Her top three tracks globally, ‘Love Me Jeje,’ ‘Wait for U,’ and ‘Me & U,’ have earned her a dedicated fanbase.

Seyi Vibez climbed to the sixth position with 222 points. His top tracks are his collaborations with Ayra Starr on ‘Bad Vibes’ and standout tracks like ‘Doha’ and ‘Santorini’.

Omah Lay continues to impress with his soulful sound, securing the seventh spot with 218 points. His top songs include ‘Holy Ghost,’ ‘Reason,’ and ‘My Dealer’ (currently Nigeria’s second most Shazamed song).

Olamide, a pioneer of the street music genre, holds the eighth position with 132 points. His tracks ‘Metaverse,’ ‘Way Back,’ and ‘Uptown Disco’ showcase his versatility as an indigenous rap artist.

Chike rounds out the top ten. His songs ‘Egwu,’ ‘My Baby,’ and ‘Follow You’ contributed to his 107 points.

The Kworb global digital artist ranking reflects the dynamic nature of the Nigerian music industry. With the likes of Asake and Burna Boy set to release new bodies of work, it is expected that the rankings will see a new set of top 10s in the coming weeks.
