This delicious macaroni is the perfect comfort food, thanks to the Italian approach. The mix of herbs and spices gives it the aroma and taste that will have you wanting more. For that extra touch add in some parmesan cheese- as much as your heart desires!
Ingredients
450 g minced meat
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
1 tsp rosemary seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp ginger
1 can tomatoes
2 cups macaroni
1 tsp dried ground chilli
1 pc onions
2 tbsps olive oil
1 bunch fresh parsley
2 pcs seasoning cubes
2 pinches salt
Method
Firstly chop onion and parsley. Set aside.
Put 2 spoons of olive oil in a saucepan on medium heat. Add in the chopped onion to fry for about 5 minutes or until soft. Remember to keep stirring to prevent burning. Turn the heat up and then add in the minced meat to cook for about 8 minutes and keep stirring until meat is no longer pink.
Add the plum tomatoes, ¼ teaspoon oregano, ¼ teaspoon rosemary, ¼ teaspoon thyme, ½ teaspoon garlic, ½ teaspoon ginger and stir. Use the spoon to break down the tomatoes. Crush in 1 ½ stock cube, add the pepper, salt and keep stirring.
Cover sauce pan and leave sauce to simmer for about 30 minutes or until sauce is well thickened. Keep checking and stirring the sauce occasionally.
While the sauce cooks, boil your macaroni for about 15 minutes or until almost done.
Drain the spaghetti, add into the sauce pan with ¼ cup parsley (chopped) and stir. Allow to cook for about 5 minutes.
Serve hot with grated parmesan cheese (optional).
